ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

ASBÜ, in the center of the capital, is the first and only state university in Turkey founded in order to be the pioneer of Social Sciences Researches. With its research and undergraduate and graduate programs, ASBÜ aims to undertake an effective role not only in Turkey but also in international level. In line with this purpose, numerous Research and Application Centers are operating within ASBÜ. Research in ASBU is not based on the transfer of knowledge produced in West, but on the basis of producing information that will contribute to the solution of social, human, administrative, political, commercial and industrial problems at the local level. For this purpose, as in the world's leading research universities, ASBÜ also works with a structure focused under Research Centers. ASBU is not a campus university outside the city, but a city university that penetrates the city's texture and veins, intertwined with the society, which is the natural laboratory of social sciences. Ability to become a City University gives ASBU the opportunity to integrate with society and to explore dynamic structure of society.
