ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY

Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University was established on July 11, 1992 under the name of Niğde University. Later on, it took the name of Martyr Chief Master Sergeant Ömer Halisdemir who showed a great heroism during treacherous attempt targeting Republic of Turkey and Turkish Nation on July 15 2016. Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University continues its activities in 6 settlements including Central Campus, Aşağı Kayabaşı Campus, Derbent Campus, Bor Campus, Sports Sciences Faculty Campus and Ulukışla Campus. In our university, undergraduate education is carried out at 13 faculties including Arts and Sciences, Education, Engineering, Architecture, Economics and Administrative Sciences, Agricultural Sciences and Technologies, Communication, Islamic Sciences, Dentistry, Fine Arts, Sports Sciences and Medicine. In addition, Dentistry was established and but student admission has not started. Graduate education is carried out in 4 Graduate Schools, including; Natural and Applied Sciences, Social Sciences, Educational Sciences and Health Sciences. Educational activities carried out in 2 schools including School of Foreign Languages and Niğde Zübeyde Hanım School of Health are at the Bachelor's Degree level, and 6 Vocational Schools including; Niğde Vocational School of Social Sciences, Niğde Vocational School of Technical Sciences, Niğde Zübeyde Hanım Vocational School of Health Services, Bor Halil Zöhre Ataman Vocational School, Bor Vocational School, Ulukışla Vocational School and Turkish Music State Conservatory. After common protocol signed by Niğde Governorship and our university and approved by Ministry of Health, Niğde State Hospital started to serve as Niğde Ömer Halisdemir University Training and Research Hospital. There are 4 Departments, 11 Research and Application Centers affiliated to the Rectorate. Culture and Art House, Aşağı Kayabaşı Kayabaşı Guest house, Göncü Konağı Guest house, Ayhan Şahenk Guest house is used for social and cultural services.

In our University, there are 14 Faculties and, 8 Vocational School.
